What is the ELAPA Student Portfolio?
Students demonstrate their learning and college readiness using a body of evidence comprised of completed artifacts. Students will defend that their work shows mastery of the East Los Angeles Performing Arts Magnet creative, academic, and leadership skills. Students will demonstrate how the work they are presenting meets the school’s criteria for graduation and supports their own personal and professional goals.
Elements of the Portfolio
Students need to have one artifact from each category as well as from a minimum of six different content areas (subjects).

10th Grade Benchmark Portfolio (includes 9th and 10th Grade Work)
The completion of this portfolio will be monitored by the student's advisory teacher. Each piece of work included in the portfolio must be approved by the teacher(s) in whose class the work was completed and graded.
12th Grade Graduation Portfolio
In addition to the broad categories above ( analysis, communication, student directed Inquiry, problem solving, argument, collaboration, and performance), the senior portfolio will also include a personal statement, resume, and evidence of community service. The Senior Portfolio contains 11th and 12th grade course work.
